MANKATO, Minn. (KEYC) – Holly Ellison, a registered dietician with Mankato Clinic Diabetes Care Heart, shares a simple, wholesome and scrumptious penne pasta recipe.
This scrumptious recipe may have you skipping takeout to make it at dwelling.
Penne Rosa substances:
1 Tbsp. olive oil
3 Tbsp. minced garlic
1 24 ounce jar of marinara sauce
1/4 tsp. crushed purple pepper flakes (or alter relying in your spice desire)
1/2 cup half and half
4 oz. can of sliced mushrooms or 1/2 cup of recent mushrooms
1 container of cherry tomatoes, sliced in half
1 bag of child spinach
16 oz. penne pasta
grated parmesan or feta cheese for garnish
Tyson frozen black pepper and herb hen (if desired)
Directions:
Pre-cook penne pasta per directions. Put aside.
Warmth 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a big skillet over medium-high warmth. As soon as the oil is heated, add hen. Prepare dinner for 3-5 minutes or till heat.
For vegetarian recipe, use simply 1 tbsp. of olive oil and add minced garlic. Prepare dinner for 30 seconds or till aromatic. Add jar of marinara sauce to skillet. Toss in crushed pepper. Stir and prepare dinner for 10 minutes. Add heavy whipping cream/half and half. Stir to mix. Add spinach and mushrooms. Prepare dinner till spinach is usually wilted.
Add pre-cooked penne pasta to skillet, warmth till heat, serve and revel in!
