The Dilworth Soup Kitchen has seen a rise in individuals needing meals with inflation on the rise.
Suzanne Sigmon, certainly one of many volunteers who present scorching take-out lunches, stated she has seen the rise and is glad she can assist feed those that want it most.
“Individuals are out of labor, hungry and it’s I believe it’s despicable in our nation that individuals are hungry. So we’re doing what little we will to assist,” Sigmon stated.
Sigmon has been part of the kitchen for 12 years.
“I like to prepare dinner. I like feeding individuals and making really feel good with meals,” Sigmon stated.

Statistics present the price of meals has elevated 13.5% during the last 12 months. Presently, the nation is experiencing the largest meals inflation since 1979.
As a consequence of that, strains for meals are getting longer and longer.
Tom Fedell, Board Chair of the Dilworth Soup Kitchen, stated the kitchen feeds over 200 individuals every day.
The kitchen is situated on East Boulevard and serves lunch Monday via Friday from 11 a.m. to midday. No necessities are wanted to get meals.
