Smoketown Blues will carry southern-style barbecue to downtown Valparaiso.
The restaurant with “a fiery ardour for distinctive components, freshly trimmed meats, and full of life experiences” will open for takeout Tuesday at 66 W. Lincolnway in downtown Valparaiso.

The barbecue joint will serve meats smoked low and gradual on apple, hickory, pecan and cherry woods sourced from the American South. It makes its personal barbecue sauces in-house, resembling Cherry Chipotle, Honey Habanero, Georgia Peach and Tennessee Whiskey.
It focuses on artisan barbecue with “a skinny outer bark and an internal smoke ring revealing tender meat inside” that is crafted with “signature blends of smoke, dry rubs and sauces.”
