2     medium onions thinly sliced

1 28-oz can tomato sauce

1/2 to 1 teaspoon kosher salt

2 teaspoons cumin

1 teaspoon gentle chili powder

1 teaspoon garlic powder

2     kilos boneless skinless hen breasts or thighs

Juice of 1 lime – Scorching sauce non-compulsory

Add the sliced onions, tomato sauce, salt, cumin, chili powder, and garlic powder to a 6-quart gradual cooker, stirring to mix.

Nestle the hen into the gradual cooker, ensuring it’s nicely coated by the tomato combination.

Prepare dinner on excessive for 3-4 hours or low for 6-7, till the sauce has thickened, the onions are delicate, and the hen is falling aside.

Take away the hen and shred with two forks. Add the shredded hen again to the gradual cooker, stirring to mix.

Add the lime juice and extra salt if desired. Serve heat, including scorching sauce to style.

Makes 4-6 servings. Observe- Be sure you use canned tomato sauce on this recipe. Diced or entire tomatoes won’t work nicely.  You may also make this within the instant pot
