SIDNEY — Members of the Montcalm Neighborhood Faculty Agriculture Membership shared domestically grown meals with college students in want this Thanksgiving.

Membership members collected empty baskets from family and friends and crammed them with quite a lot of meals objects. Utilizing funds raised from their annual hanging baskets plant sale, the membership partnered with the Montcalm Space Profession Middle’s Agriscience FFA college students who participated within the FFA broiler hen competitors to buy frozen chickens.

As well as, they obtained donations of potatoes and floor beef from the Baumann household farm, butternut squash and onions from Ag Membership Co-Adviser Dan Rossman, and apples from Anderson and Ladies Orchard, and floor pork from Sietsema Farms and MCC Biology Teacher Michelle Gibson. The bottom pork was from pigs that had been donated to the faculty by Sietsema Farms and raised by the Ag Membership as a category mission final spring.

Together with the meals objects, membership members included three recipes that use the contents of the basket, together with crock pot hen roast, bakes butternut squash and apple crunch. They hope the recipes will assist recipients in getting ready their vacation meal.
